Both Kathy & I have long been into Country Line Dancing and have been dancing for over 15 years.
We actually met quite by accident (and yes, it was at a country night club). At the time, neither of us were looking for a relationship. But one night we were introduced by a mutual friend. And you know how it goes, we did a few dances together, chit chatted a bit and at the end of the night, see next week...... maybe.
As time went on, what started out as just having a regular dance partner turned into dating and we began to realize just how often we were both at the same place at the same time over the past 10 years, never knew it and how much in common we really had.
Well, here we are 4 years later!!!!! Who knew??
I started as a "teachers helper" at one of the local clubs 6 years ago. Now one of my dearest friends, Kathy K. (yes another Kathy) was trying to teach a couples dance at the local club, but didn't have a partner. I happen to be there that night and already knew the dance so offered to help her. We've been the best of friends ever since.
Kathy K. & I still teach (although its actually her gig and I'm still the official helper *smiles*) at this same club on Thursdays during the summer.
Over the past few years, we have also helped out our great friends Jim & Wanda with dance lessons at their Friday night dances.
In 2007, my wife Kathy and I started teaching Country Line Dancing on our own at the Adult night school and it has really taken off. Check our upcoming events page for more details on that.
During the summer, we have our own Country Dance night on Wednesdays. Besides my wife Kathy and myself doing dance lessons, we got a great line up of other dance instructors to help us out. See the Upcoming events page for more info on that too.
Now if your wondering why I keep saying my wife Kathy through 1/2 of this, its because we know too many Kathy's, 5 off the top of my head and a lot of times, they are all together.
